Impact crushers: Ideal For Asphalt

The impact crusher is the most common crusher for asphalt, given the soft abrasive nature of asphalt, jaw crushers tend to get gummed up during crushing runs, particularly in warmer climates and temps.

In addition to having the capability of crushing softer materials such as asphalt, impact crushers yield the most product reduction when compared to other types of crushers.

Impact crushers can also yield a reduction of 12-15 to 1 which is the greatest in the crusher category. However, due to the nature of these machines, they are high wear and require regular replacement of worn parts making the cost per ton to operate considerably higher than other crushing technologies such as asphalt shredders.

GrinderCrusherScreen has a variety of new and used impact crushers for sale, contact our team today to get started on your crushing journey.

New & Used asphalt shredders for sale

GrinderCrusherScreen recommends shredders for recycling asphalt for a few key reasons. First and foremost, the cost per ton is significantly less than the cost of running an impact crusher of a comparable price point.

Additionally, asphalt shredders will accept larger pieces of asphalt for recycling meaning less prep time adding efficiency to your asphalt recycling operation.

There are a number of shredder manufacturers in the marketplace, and GrinderCrusherScreen offers a variety of new and used asphalt crushing equipment, but our number one recommendation for this particular use case is the CAMS Shredder, as it was designed with soft recycling materials such as concrete, block, brick, and asphalt in mind.
